What does a skip cost in Teesside?

A 2 to 3 yard mini skip on a Teesside drive sits at £90 to £130 for a standard hire in 2026. A 4 yard midi runs £120 to £160, the 6 to 8 yard builders skip that most renovations end up needing lands at £160 to £240, and a 12 yard bulky-waste skip is £260 to £350. Two things move a price after size: what goes in it, and where it sits. Clean rubble and soil weigh a lot but tip cheaply, mixed household waste tips dearer per tonne, and anything needing separate handling (mattresses, plasterboard, tyres, fridges) carries its own line. If the skip has to stand on the road rather than your drive, a council permit is added on top.

Teesside streets decide the skip as much as the job does

Ask any driver on this patch and they will tell you the delivery matters more than the tonnage. The tight terraced grids of Gresham, Newport and the Hartlepool Headland leave no off-street space at all, so it is a road permit and cones or nothing. The interwar semis of Billingham, Thornaby and Acklam usually have a driveway with just enough width for a mini or a midi, but not always enough for the lorry to swing.
